Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Pace Interval Timer ("Pace") is a free workout timer run by Lizards of the Rock Pty Ltd ("we" or "us") in South Africa. We are responsible for your personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short:

1. What we collect

Without an account: nothing is sent to us. Your workouts, workout history and settings are saved in your browser on your device.

With an account:

Share links: when you share a workout, we store a copy of its name and intervals. Anyone with the link who is signed in to Pace can view and copy it. It doesn't show your name or email address.

Technical information: our providers record things like IP addresses, browser type and sign-in events, to run and protect the service. The app also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google.

2. How we use it

We do not sell or rent your information, share it for advertising, use analytics or tracking, or make automated decisions about you.

3. Who helps us run Pace

These providers only use your information to provide their service to us. Some of them process information outside South Africa. When information leaves South Africa, the EU or the UK, we rely on that country's level of protection or on the providers' standard data protection contracts, as POPIA and the GDPR require.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

4. Storage on your device

Pace saves your workouts, workout history, settings and sign-in session in your browser's storage. This is needed for the app to work. Pace doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing your browser's data for Pace removes this information.

5. How long we keep it

6. Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This permanently removes your account, synced workouts, workout history and share links from our database.

Data already saved on your devices stays there, so you can keep using Pace without an account. To remove it, sign out and use Clear local data in Settings, or clear your browser's data. Do this on each device you've used. Copies in provider backups are removed when those backups expire.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Email lizardsoftherock@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days, and may need to confirm it's you first.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator or, in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.

8. Security

All connections to Pace are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and database rules mean only you can read your account's data. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. Age

Pace is only for people aged 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or by email. Our Information Officer can be reached at lizardsoftherock@gmail.com.
